Requiem Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

88 Points, WE. Requiem is a blend of grapes from six sites across the Columbia Valley. Each component is vinified separately and then undergoes a series of blending trials, looking for purity of fruit, complexity and outstanding quality that consistantly overperforms.

Paetra Pinot Blanc 2019

Our 2019 Pinot Blanc was hand harvested from old-vines grown at 750 ft above sea-level. It was fermented in 100% neutral oak barrels. The resulting wine is very pure and mineral with hints of pear, exotic fruit and bright acidity.

Ricosoli Toscana 2016

Ruby red color with delicate aromas of red berries and small red fruits followed by a soft mouthfeel with nice acidity giving way to a well-balanced and pleasant finish.

J Mourat Collection Blanc 2018

Light gold in color, the Blanc Collection displays aromas of green orchard fruits, lanolin and white flowers. This medium-bodied wine has a sharp, broad acidity that delivers incredible freshness and helps to deliver a long, concentrated finish.

Tombacco Biferno Rosso Riserva 2014

90 Points, DWW. The brilliance of the garnet reflections on an intense ruby red, the Biferno is a wine with a full and aromatic taste. Olfactory nuances ranging from ethereal vanilla to sharp notes of spices and cinnamon. In the mouth it is rich, velvety and harmonious, perfect with meat dishes.

Domaine De Pallus Messanges Rose 2019

100% Cabernet Franc. Salmon pink; Full palate with fresh strawberry and citrus notes. Direct press, 3 months in stainless steel. Winemaker Bertrand's "Messanges" line is his younger, fresher expression of his vineyards.

Santa Julia Malbec Reserva 2018

91 Points, JS. Dark violet with blue hues. Nose of ripe red and black fruits such as cherries, plums, and blackberries. Notes of vanilla, chocolate, and snuff. Medium-bodied flavor, with soft tannins and balanced acidity with a fruity and spicy finish.

Ameal Loureiro 2019

With ripe citrus skin, lemon blossom, and green grass on the nose, this wine is like standing in a lemon grove on a warm afternoon. The palate is fresh and crisp, but there’s a mineral density present that gives serious structure to this otherwise fun-loving wine.

Chateau L'orangerie Bordeaux Rogue 2018

Moderately dense garnet with purple. Very appealing, clean and youthful aroma of healthy, mature dark cherry and damson plum with faint spice notes. The wine is round, supple and medium bodied and imparts a soft final impression with the barest touch of tannin.

Scarpetta Pinot Grigio 2018

This wine showcases some of the best sites in Friuli-Venezia Giulia for this aromatic varietal. Light straw color with just a hint of salmon. Aromas of both stone fruits and melon. Melon and stone fruits with minerals and medium body. Pinot Grigio has such a great range.

NOSE
Butterscotch and a complex overripe fruit jump out of the glass followed by notes of malt, vanilla and hints of sweet white grapes. Some grassy notes hang about with some honey and a sweetness that reminds me of the Playdough / Superman ice-cream I loved as a kid. A nice nose indeed.

PALATE
Rich overripe fruit mixes with some hay like malt, wood and candied citrus rind. Dark honey and dried dates and figs nicely fill out the role of second fiddle as they moves across the palate. There is a Baklava and muscovite sugar quality that mixes with some minerality on the backend.

FINISH
Long and driven by apricots and wood. Notes of vanilla, cinnamon, malt, toffee and dried orchard fruit and dried dark fruit mix in and out as it slowly fades.

BALANCE, BODY & FEEL
Good balance with some darker notes mixing in with some of the brighter ones. Full bodied with a soft and chewy texture that makes for a nice drinking experience.

OVERALL
Aberfeldy 12 is tasty stuff. The deep fruity nose compliments the oak and fruit palate that continues nicely through the finish. I'm really enjoying sitting in my recliner with my dog on my legs, laptop on my lap and this in my mouth.

One moment it's light and fruity, the next some darker notes appear and then back to the lighter sweeter notes. It seems to shift in the glass, but there's always a nice balance to the Aberfeldy 12 - a fun and flavorful dram I'm enjoying more and more with every sip!
