Requiem Cabernet Sauvignon 2017

88 Points, WE. Requiem is a blend of grapes from six sites across the Columbia Valley. Each component is vinified separately and then undergoes a series of blending trials, looking for purity of fruit, complexity and outstanding quality that consistantly overperforms.

Paetra Pinot Blanc 2019

Our 2019 Pinot Blanc was hand harvested from old-vines grown at 750 ft above sea-level. It was fermented in 100% neutral oak barrels. The resulting wine is very pure and mineral with hints of pear, exotic fruit and bright acidity.

Ricosoli Toscana 2016

Ruby red color with delicate aromas of red berries and small red fruits followed by a soft mouthfeel with nice acidity giving way to a well-balanced and pleasant finish.

J Mourat Collection Blanc 2018

Light gold in color, the Blanc Collection displays aromas of green orchard fruits, lanolin and white flowers. This medium-bodied wine has a sharp, broad acidity that delivers incredible freshness and helps to deliver a long, concentrated finish.

Tombacco Biferno Rosso Riserva 2014

90 Points, DWW. The brilliance of the garnet reflections on an intense ruby red, the Biferno is a wine with a full and aromatic taste. Olfactory nuances ranging from ethereal vanilla to sharp notes of spices and cinnamon. In the mouth it is rich, velvety and harmonious, perfect with meat dishes.

Domaine De Pallus Messanges Rose 2019

100% Cabernet Franc. Salmon pink; Full palate with fresh strawberry and citrus notes. Direct press, 3 months in stainless steel. Winemaker Bertrand's "Messanges" line is his younger, fresher expression of his vineyards.

Santa Julia Malbec Reserva 2018

91 Points, JS. Dark violet with blue hues. Nose of ripe red and black fruits such as cherries, plums, and blackberries. Notes of vanilla, chocolate, and snuff. Medium-bodied flavor, with soft tannins and balanced acidity with a fruity and spicy finish.

Ameal Loureiro 2019

With ripe citrus skin, lemon blossom, and green grass on the nose, this wine is like standing in a lemon grove on a warm afternoon. The palate is fresh and crisp, but there’s a mineral density present that gives serious structure to this otherwise fun-loving wine.

Chateau L'orangerie Bordeaux Rogue 2018

Moderately dense garnet with purple. Very appealing, clean and youthful aroma of healthy, mature dark cherry and damson plum with faint spice notes. The wine is round, supple and medium bodied and imparts a soft final impression with the barest touch of tannin.

Scarpetta Pinot Grigio 2018

This wine showcases some of the best sites in Friuli-Venezia Giulia for this aromatic varietal. Light straw color with just a hint of salmon. Aromas of both stone fruits and melon. Melon and stone fruits with minerals and medium body. Pinot Grigio has such a great range.

Cabernet Celebration Month Continues with our Thursday Night Tasting Featuring
Canard Vineyard!

Thursday Night
October 10, 2019
Town Wine and Spirits
4:00 pm to 7:00 pm

Cabernet Celebration Month is off to a roaring start! After our first in-store event this past Thursday evening cleared a large swath of our featured Cabernet selections, we had to restock on Friday and brought in a bunch of new things! We could not have been more pleased with how many of our customers came out to explore the Luxury side of the Cabernet. On Saturday, we poured 7 wines all under $25 retail. As staff we already knew all the wines but to taste all 7 side by side was a fascinating experience. This tasting was really able to showcase the diversity in Cabernet as the wines came from 7 different wine growing regions from across the globe.

For our next free in-store event, we are focusing on one specific winery from Napa Valley. Join Sid Lakhkar from Horizon Beverage as he pours the delicious wines from Canard Vineyards. He will be pouring from 4 pm to 7 pm on Thursday evening, October 10th, 2019. Seeing the Patriots play on Thursday Night Football, we can't think of a better pre-game plan! The entire wine team will be here to taste and talk about these wines through out! Or maybe just to drink them! Either way, we'll be here.

We were introduced to Canard Vineyard a month ago and were absolutely taken with the wines. This 35 year old Calistoga estate is producing sincere, authentic, and delicious reds. Normally, we will spend 30 minutes (tops!) to taste through a line-up that would include 6 wines. Our visit with Canard lasted an hour and 15 minutes! We were able to really spend the time to get to know both the wines individually and the style of the winery. The wines are all full-bodied yet elegant and refined. The concentration levels mirror the expectation of high quality Napa Valley reds so the wines have richness and mouth feel. Yet, despite the richness, the wines are reserved, balanced, and nuanced. They are pretty magically wines that deftly walk the line between power and elegance.

The tasting line-up will focus mainly on Cabernet but Canard also makes fabulous Merlot and Zinfandel so Sid will be pouring one of each of those in addition to the three Cabernets.

Personally, I can not express how impressed I am with these wines. I sincerely implore you to make some time on Thursday evening to stop by and experience these wines. They are 100% worth your time and effort to drive to Town Wine and Spirits.

We are currently planning on pouring the following:

Canard Estate Zinfandel 2016
Canard Adam's Blend 2015
Canard Throwback 2015
Canard The Rescuer 2015
Canard Estate Cabernet Sauvignon 2015

Did we say that this was a free event? Please plan on coming and spending some time with us!

We will build out a cheese and charcuterie board for the event as well. Big cabs can always benefit from a little bit of food. Plus we love cheese and cured meats!

We will have special feature pricing specifically for this event by the bottle!

Taste. Love. Buy.
